Kristin
Cavallari will take over for Lauren Conrad on The Hills next
season and judging by the preview of this Sunday’s season finale, Cavallari is
bringing on the drama. I’ve decided to make peace with the fact the LC wants
out and have begun accepting Cavallari as her replacement. The former Laguna
Beach rivals
have a lot more in common than the same shade of dress they’ll end up wearing
at the Speidi nuptials…apart from fighting over Stephen Coletti in high school, they both share a past with
resident Hills manwhore Brody Jenner. Unlike Conrad, Cavallari
is pretty much an attention seeker, so expect her to give Spencer and Heidi some
stiff competition. This reality TV casting swap couldn’t have be better if it
was scripted!
Here’s a look at some TV replacements from the past:

Saved by the Bell
NBC decided to extend the episode order of SBTB’s final season, however Tiffani (Amber) Thiessen (Kelly
Kapowski) and Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano) refused to sign new contracts. Producers cast Leanna Creel as tough girl
Tori Scott to mix things up with Zack, Screech, Slater and Lisa while Kelly and
Jessie were MIA. Initially, Tori argued with Zack (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) but later became his girlfriend. Hmmm…Zack
sparred with Jessie at times and Kelly was his on and off girlfriend. Tori was
at times sweet like Kelly but had wild curly hair like Jessie. But let’s face
it…there was no supercouple like Zack and Kelly and no one else could really
get “so excited” like Jessie Spano!
NBC decided to confuse the heck of out the viewers as they would alternate
between the Kelly/Jessie and Tori episodes each week. Tori was never mentioned
during the Kelly/Jessie episodes while Kelly and Jessie were never mentioned in
the Tori episodes.

Beverly Hills 90210
The original 90210 was well-known
for its cast changes from season to season however the biggest change came at
the end of the fourth season in 1994 when Shannen
Doherty left the show. Reports surfaced at the time that the exit was due
to the actress’ difficult on-set relationships with many of her co-stars.
Producers wrote out Brenda by having her attend school in London.
Tiffani (Amber) Thiessen was then as
the new resident bad girl Valerie Malone, who was an old family friend of the
Walsh’s from Buffalo.
Val moved into Brenda’s old room and stirred up a lot of trouble for the crew
(the drugs! the rape accusations!). Val hooked up with Dylan (Luke Perry) and pissed off Kelly (Jennie Garth) on a number of occasions.
FYI, producers originally approached Alicia
Silverstone (pre-Clueless) for
this role but she turned it down.
Val’s time at Bev Hills came to an end in 1998 and Aaron Spelling handpicked General Hospital star Vanessa Marcil to fill the
brunette-vixen void. Marcil’s Gina Kincaid was originally Donna’s (Tori Spelling) cousin but turned out to
be her half-sister (Doc Martin got around but also liked to keep in the
family). Gina also went on to cause trouble for the crew (strippers in the
Peach Pitt After Dark!)…hooked up with Dylan and pissed off Kelly.

Spin City
Michael J. Fox announced that he’d be leaving Spin City at the end of the 1999-2000 season to
spend more time with his family and to raise money for the awareness and
research into Parkinson’s disease. Deputy Mayor Mike was replaced by Charlie Sheen’s Deputy Mayor Charlie
for the show’s final two seasons.

The X-Files
Robert Patrick joined The X-Files in its eight season when David Duchovny decided to leave his
role as Fox Mulder in order to devote more time to film and other projects.
Character-wise, it was Scully (Gillian
Anderson) who became the new “believer” while Patrick’s FBI Agent John
Doggett took over as the “skeptic”.

Charmed
Another Shannen Doherty replacement! Rose
McGowan took over as the third (and long-lost) Halliwell sister, Paige
Matthews, in the fourth season of the Spelling produced series. Doherty left the show at the end of the third
season after an alleged on-set feud with Alyssa
Milano (Phoebe). After Prue’s cliffhanger death, the two sisters found out
that their mother had an affair with her Whitelighter and gave the baby up so
that it could be raised out of harms way. Paige’s arrival shifted the sibling
dynamic between the Halliwell sisters as Piper was now the eldest (aka the
responsible one), Phoebe was the middle sister (aka the mediator) and Paige was
the baby of the bunch (aka the impulsive one).

The O.C.
Although there were reports that Mischa Barton wanted to leave The O.C. at the end of its third season
to focus on her film career (how’s that going, by the way?), creator and
executive producer Josh Schwartz was adamant that killing off Marissa Cooper
was completely a “creative decision”. Really? Then, why did Barton spoil the
season finale death to the press a day before it aired?! Season Three guest
stars Autumn Reeser (Taylor
Townsend) and Willa Holland (Kaitlin
Cooper) become regulars in the fourth (and final) season season. The Marissa
characteristics were split among the two…Taylor
took over as love interest to Ryan (Benjamin
McKenzie) and BFF to Summer (Rachel
Bilson) while Kaitlin inherited her big sister’s troublemaking duties.

So get this...Joss Whedon
doesn’t hold the rights to Buffy the Vampire Slayer! The rights belong
to Kuzui Enterprises and now Fran and Kaz Kuzui are working with Vertigo
Entertainment to relaunch the Buffy series. They have yet to approach
Whedon.
The Hollywood
Reporter says that the new film would have no connection to the TV series
or use its popular characters. However, according to
Pop Wrap, the new film would be like the recent Star Trek
relaunch where they would use “into every generation a slayer is born”
loophole…however if you remember the series finale correctly, Buffy got Willow
to cast a spell so that all the potential slayers in waiting would get called
up right away in order to help Buffy and the Scoobies defeat The First Evil.

TV Guide Canada’s Nelson Branco reported exclusively yesterday that The Young and the Restless star Chris Engen (Adam) walked out on set on Tuesday after the script called for a gay kiss between Engen’s character Adam and Rafe (played by Yani Gellman).
Branco reported that the actor had been unhappy with the direction of Adam’s storyline for quite some time. Adam’s recent storyline includes faking his blindness to get out of jail and gaslighting a pregnant Ashley into thinking she’s gone insane. It is reported that Engen had several meetings with producers and would also call in sick. Walking out on the role could land the actor in legal trouble, as he was in the middle of a four year contract with the soap. Engen first joined the series in February 2008
Adam (aka Victor Newman Jr) has been a straight character since Wilson debuted the character in February 2008 and has been paired with Heather (Vail Bloom). Adam's sudden change in orientation could do with his scheme to get out of house arrest and manipulate the feelings of his lawyer, Rafe. Adam also framed Rafe's aunt Estella who works for the Newmans by making it look like she was responsible for Ashley's troubles.
The soap quickly recast the role yesterday with Veronica Mars star Michael Muhney (Sheriff Don Lamb) who has expressed great enthusiasm for the role on twitter. He began taping yesterday and will first air on Wednesday, June 24th in Canada (and on the 25th in the States).
Updated News (May 25th):
-- Stephanie Gatschet
(ex-Tammy, GL) is joining All My
Children in the recurring role of Madison North, the D.A.’s wife. She first
airs on Friday, June 19th.
-- Catherine Hickland
will be returning to One Life To Live
this summer as Lindsay.
-- Guiding Light has
announced the first airdates for its returning stars. Paul Anthony Stewart (Danny), Nancy St. Alban (Michelle) and Krista Tesreau (Mindy) will all return
on July 2nd.
-- Anthony Herrera will return to As The World Turns this summer as
super-villain turned cartoon James Stenbeck.
-- Nick Stabile (ex-Mark, Sunset Beach; ex-Temp Fox, Passions) is joining Days Of Our Lives. Not sure of the role
yet. Also joining DAYS are Mark Hapka who
will play Nathan Jannings, Pete and Melissa’s son who will be (another) love
interest for Melanie and Casey Deidrick
will play Mia’s baby daddy, Chad.
-- Expect David Lago (Raul)
to stick around The Young and the
Restless longer than planned. How are you guys enjoying Lago’s return so
far? Two episodes in and he’s already proposed to Mac. The Chloe/Billy/Mac/Raul
quad seems interesting. The Glow by Jabot kids are definitely “back” but how
come neither Billy or Mac (and now Raul) have yet to cross paths with J.T.?
-- Several sources are confirming that Thom Bierdz is definitely back as Phillip Chancellor III and not
another character. When Bierdz appeared the other week as Cane’s “uncle”
Langley, there was still some speculation on who the actor would play…some had
even guessed a twin. Looks like now we’ll have to tune in to see how/why
Phillip III faked his death all the way back in 1989 and just how it will
affect his ex-wife (or isn’t she still legally his wife) Nina, Phillip IV, Christine,
Kay, Jill and all. If you are not familiar with the character, check out this page for a
refresher…after all, it has been 20 years since the character last appeared.
-- Raya Meddine returns as Sabrina
next week when Ashley starts having visions of Victor’s dead ex. Corbin Bernsen also returns next week
as Father Todd Williams, Paul’s brother. Could it have anything to do with Paul’s
quest to find out who Mary Jane Benson is? My bet is that she’s really Paul’s
sister Patty Williams, who just happens to be one of Jack’s ex-wives. Bernsen
is also the son of Jeanne Cooper (Katherine)
-- No, B&B isn’t airing repeats…Nick and Bridget ARE back together.
Wait, isn’t he STILL married to Katie? Oh some things never change…especially
on that show.

-- Another Y&R contract scandal…TV Guide Canada’s Nelson Branco is reporting that Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) was asked to accept a pay cut, however
she refused and now the show has asked the actress to go recurring. Check out
Branco’s insight into the whole situation here. Hopefully, a proper deal that
will keep Nikki around for good will be reached soon. Last month, Jess Walton (Jill) went through
negotiations and almost walked.
-- In case you missed it, ET Canada caught
up with Melody Thomas Scott during a
set visit where she reunited with her former co-stars Heather Tom (ex-Victoria) and Don
Diamont (ex-Brad). Watch the full length clip here.
-- Huge rumor out there that when Raul (David
Lago) comes back to Y&R this
Friday, it will be revealed that he and Mac (Clementine Ford) have been having an affair while in Darfur and he’ll ask her to
marry him.
-- Y&R’s Lily (Christel Khalil)
and Cane (Daniel Goddard) tie the
knot this week…the boring couple might get interesting when viewers learn that
Cane’s got a big secret. Could it have to do with those shady phone calls he
used to make when he first arrived in town?
-- Soap vet Rick Hearst is returning to The
Bold and the Beautiful on July 17th as Brooke’s ex-husband Whip
Jones. The actor was recently downgraded to recurring status on General Hospital, where’s he’s been
playing Ric Lansing since 2002. The soap
vet also played Alan Michael Spaulding on Guiding
Light as well as the nasty Matt Clark #2 on The Young and the Restless. Once Matt Clark was killed off Y&R,
Hearst signed on to play Whip on B&B in 2002. If you don’t remember his
character, Whip posed as Brooke’s baby daddy when she was pregnant with Hope…whose
real father was Brooke then-son-in-law Deacon. Whip will return to B&B when
Stephanie hires him away from Forrester International to begin work on a PR
campaign for Jackie M. As for Heart’s GH exit…well with it being dark and
gloomy GH, expect Ric to pop up in the morgue sometime in June. As we all know,
in Guza’s GH universe, people don’t just leave town alive.
-- An altercation with Katie (Terri
Colombino) will cause devastating results for Vienna (Ewa
Da Cruz) and her baby next week on As
The World Turns. Vienna agreed to carry Brad
(Austin Peck) and Katie’s baby when
they couldn’t conceive on their own; however Vienna’s really carrying her husband Henry’s
(Trent Dawson) baby. Overall, it’s
going to be pretty emotional for this quad of best friends. If you’ve tuned out
recently due to the horrible casting changes and storylines, this might be a good
time to pop in for a quick visit.
-- A casting move that is probably pissing off GH…Tom Pelphrey has agreed to return to Guiding Light this summer as Jonathan. GH has been perusing
Pelphrey to join the show as Dante for the past six months. It’s pretty funny
when an actor opts to return to a show that has already been cancelled in favor
of one that is horribly written.
-- Meanwhile, Sonny’s other kids are getting aged. Lexi Ainsworth has been cast as a 16 year old Kristina who will be
quite the troublemaker while Aaron
Refvem will play an 8 year old Morgan.
Upcoming Spoilers:
All My Children: Angie and Jake work together to save Ian. Opal warns
Ryan. Aidan searches for Annie. Kendall
becomes suspicious of Erica. Liza confides in Jake while also defending herself
to Colby.
As The World Turns: Meg proposes to Paul, but also gets some attention from
Damian. Jack decides to move the kids out. Rosanna returns on Wednesday, May 20th.
The Bold and the Beautiful: Nick gives Owen a warning about dating Bridget.
Ridge turns to Taylor
and they share a kiss. Owen and Jackie’s affair becomes public knowledge. Bill
makes a play for Donna.
Days Of Our Lives: Rafe wants to
adopt Grace. Philip tries to convince Victor to trade Stefano for Stephanie
(why would Patch and Kayla name their daughter Stephanie when it’s so close to
Stefano?). Will confides in Mia about his fight with Sami. Owen doesn’t want to
give Stephanie to E.J. Daniel and Lucas both dream about Chloe (this is still
going on?). Bo and Victor argue. Rafe and Sami have a run in with Nicole. Kate
sees Daniel and Chloe together.
General Hospital: Alexis walks in on Nikolas and Rebecca. Jason tells Claudia that
he knows what she did. Michael wakes up with Lulu by his side. Michael is angry
with Carly. Johnny and Olivia hook up. Holly reveals that Luke is Ethan’s
father. Lucky and Lulu argue over Ethan. Claudia confronts Olivia about Johnny.
Lucky demands answers from Holly.
Guiding Light: Remy is tempted to
gamble. Josh worries about Reva when she gets an update on her cancer. Bill
asks Ashlee to be the wedding planner. James asks Daisy to leave Springfield with him.
One Life To Live: Those ho’s, The
Pussycat Dolls, perform today. Kyle messes with Stacy. Marty and Cole reunite. Blair
and Tea are in danger. Natalie and Jared have news for Viki and Clint.
The Young and the Restless: Besides what I’ve already spoiled
about Raul
and Cane/Lily…Neil’s Aunt Virginia is in town
for the “Lane” (more like “Lame”) wedding and has some shocking news
for Devon. Olivia and Victor continue to worry about Ashley.
Jana is suspicious of Daniel. Phillip Chancellor IV returns to Genoa
City
which not only impacts his family but the family business.

Entertainment Tonight Canada dropped by the set of The Young and the Restless where Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) gave a tour of the set and wardrobe. The visit also reunited Scott with her former Y&R co-stars, Heather Tom (ex-Victoria, Y&R; Katie, B&B) and Don Diamont (ex-Brad, Y&R; Bill, B&B) who are now on The Bold and the Beautiful. It's official -- Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton will not reprise their roles in the seventh season of The CW's One Tree Hill. Sources told Ausiello that The CW will make the announcement at their Up Front presentation next week. But this shouldn't come as a shock...it was first reported that The Chad wouldn't be returning all the way back in March.
I know you were expecting a nice screencap from the Lucas/Peyton wedding from last night's episode but I couldn't resist posting this awkward picture with P. Sawyer.

I'm the first to admit that I'm not really that crazy about Justin Timberlake, but when he appears on Saturday Night Live...the experience is pretty awesome. JT hosted this past Saturday and pretty much all the skits were good. They even managed to keep it entertaining in the last stretch...you know the stuff from 12:40-1am that either puts you to start falling asleep when you are watching live or cause a random Sunday afternoon nap when watching the next day. Timberlake and Andy Samberg did a sequel to "Dick in a Box" called "Mother Lover" which featured Patricia Clarkson and Susan Sarandon. Jimmy Fallon returned to do another installment of The Barry Gibb Talk Show with JT after he perfomed with a (somewhat) clothed Ciara for 'Love Sex Magic'. Another highlight included Star Trek stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto were joined by Leonard Nimoy during a 'Weekend Update' address to crazy trekkies trekkers.
Now for those who missed out, Global's got the episode right here. Great! Right? Well, sorta...it's missing the famous SNL Digital Short, "Mother Lover" but thank god for DailyMotion! Check out the latest craze here. Plus, if you would like to know what Ciara looks like with her clothes on, check out the first performance here.

Here are some official pictures from the upcoming Gossip Girl 80s flashback episode, Valley Girls which is serving as a backdoor pilot for a spinoff. While some reports suggested earlier this week that the project was dead...there are fortunately some new reports saying otherwise.
Britanny Snow (ex-Susan/Daisy, Guiding Light) appears as a young Lily Rhodes (Serena's mom) while Cynthia Watros (ex-Annie, Guiding Light; ex-Libby, Lost) and Andrew McCarthy (ex-Joe, Lipstick Jungle; "St. Elmo's Fire", "Pretty in Pink" et al.) star as her parents. Krysten Ritter (ex-Lucy; Gilmore Girls; ex-Gia, Veronica Mars) stars as Lily's older sister Carol. How cool would it be if they got Lauren Graham to appear as "present" Carol?
Also featured in this flashback episode are Ryan Hansen (Kyle, Party Down; ex-Dick, Veronica Mars), Luke Grimes (that manorexic Ryan Lafferty on Brothers & Sisters) lookalike Shiloh Fernandez and Matt Barr (Sully, Harper's Island; ex-Psycho Derek, One Tree Hill) as Keith Van Der Woodsen -- Serena and Eric's dad!
No Doubt will also appear as "Snowed Out" and cover Adam and the Ants' 'Stand and Deliver'.
There will also be some non-flashback story in this episode that will focus on the prom and Serena getting out of jail.
The episode airs this Sunday, May 10th at 8pm on 'A' and Monday, May 11th at 8pm on The CW.
Those who follow the blog on Twitter already know that Chris Riggi has been cast as Rufus and Lily's not-so-dead kid. He'll pop up on next week's season finale.

And Chris Riggi as the son that could finally make Rufus proud...instead of the whiny Dan:

Can’t get enough of Wolverine? Marvel (along with Vivendi/Universal) recently launched a fourth X-Men animated series focusing on
Wolverine. Unlike the movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman which came out last
Friday, the series will focus on Wolverine trying to rebuild the X-Men after the mansion is bombed and
Professor X and Jean Grey are missing.
After checking out the first four episodes that Univeral sent out, I’m happy to report that the series
is quite similar to the 90s animated series where the and stories were much more
adult and comic book-like compared to the other childish interpretations of
superhero cartoons at that time.
Character-wise, besides Wolverine, the show features Storm, Beast, Cyclops,
Rogue, Shadowcat, Nightcrawler as the main crew with more mutants appearing
later in the season, including Gambit.
The first season’s plot focuses on Wolverine attempting to reunite the X-Men
with Beast’s help after the Mutant Response Division starts to detain mutants.
Cyclops returns to the team but is unable to lead them due to his depression
while Rogue joins the Brotherhood of Mutants instead. We’re also introduced to
Emma Frost who is able to locate a comatose Professor X who is being cared for
by Magneto (seriously). Professor X contacts Wolverine from the future and
tells him that he needs to lead the X-Men in order to prevent a Human/Mutant
war which could cause the world the fall in control of the Sentinels.
You can catch the first season on YTV and Teletoon while the
second season will premiere later this year. THe first volume of Season One can also be purchased here.

-- Viewers were in for a shock when they found out that
Sharon (Sharon Case) was pregnant
last week on The Young and the Restless because
she’s got three potential fathers for her baby: Nick (the love of her life),
Jack (her ex-husband) and Billy (Jack’s younger brother). As reported last
week, Sharon will have a dream about her daughter Cassie (Camryn Grimes) and the prophecy she made before she died where she
told her that she’ll have another baby girl. The dream then turns into a
nightmare when Cassie says something that upsets her. Sharon will later confide in her mother who
is also shocked that there are three possibilities for a father. Feeling low,
Sharon will then tell Jack who thinks it is great news, even if Nick’s the
father; remember Jack has no idea about Sharon/Billy. Jack promises to help
raise the baby, even if it is Nick’s.
-- Looks like David Lago’s got an
official return date set when he returns as Raul to Y&R…he’ll be back in
time for the Abbott/Chancellor memorial day BBQ on May 21st.
-- Former Guiding
Light star John Driscoll (ex-Coop)
is joining Y&R as Phillip Chancellor IV…Phillip IV is Nina’s son with
Phillip III; well technically, not exactly…it was Jill’s son who was raised as
Phillip III after being switched at birth with Cane. I wonder how they’ll
handle the whole “age” issue with Driscoll who is well into his twenties and
the thirty something Cane who should really be in his forties. Ugh, soap aging
is so tricky!
-- General Hospital
is setting at a new low in the U.S.
ratings, tying One Life to Live for
second-last place. Looks like the ratings are finally reflecting the horrible
writing! Here are the U.S.
total viewer ratings for the week of April 20th – 24th,
2009 (from the Soap Opera Network):
Total Viewers
1. Y&R 5,109,000 (-171,000/-224,000)
2. B&B 3,488,000 (+14,000/-292,000)
3. DAYS 2,900,000 (+88,000/+16,000)
4. ATWT 2,488,000 (-42,000/-428,000)
5. AMC 2,423,000 (-149,000/-43,000)
6. GH 2,360,000 (-265,000/-668,000) - New Low
7. OLTL 2,288,000 (-275,000/-373,000) - New Low
8. GL 1,969,000 (/-405,000)
-- Rick Springfield (ex-Noah, GH) will
play himself in four episodes of the third season of Californication later this year. Also on board is Ed Westwick (Chuck, Gossip Girl).

-- Proctor & Gamble Productions / TeleNext are reviving Another World today on it’s 45th
anniversary with a new site titled Another
World Today (www.anotherworldtoday.com)
which will give fans updates on what their favourite characters have been up to
since the series was cancelled 10 years ago by NBC. The new chapter was posted
last week and readers will have a chance to provide feedback and give story
suggestions in the near future. For fans who would like to relive classic
episodes, Hulu has been re-airing episodes from 1991 and as of a couple of
weeks ago, YouTube has joined in on the fun. As with all legit streaming sites,
only U.S.
viewers can take a look…unless of course you know how to mask your I.P.

I had a chance to catch up with The Young and the Restless star and Toronto native Tonya Lee Williams (Olivia) earlier this month at the 9th Annual ReelWorld Film Festival and she was kind enough to answer questions about the film festival that she founded in 2001 and the soap.
Congratulations on the 9th annual ReelWorld Film Festival. In less than a decade, the film festival has managed to showcase both Canadian and world-wide talent. Aloo Chat is having its North American premiere at the festival this year, how does it feel having founded something that has developed into an international showcase?
We always wanted the combination. I think your local talent needs to be meeting and understanding international work as well. We wanted the both to happen because we think that it enriches the local talent, so you know what else is out there and you get to meet the people who created that work as well.
Gospel Hill is a powerful film, having already won best feature at the 2009 Texas Black Film Festival. The film stars Angela Basset as well as Danny Glover, whom you had the chance to work with in Poor Boy’s Game.
I think that with the amount of movies that Danny has done, I think that everyone's worked with Danny Glover at least once! [Laughs]
Both of these films deal with racial inequality; how important is it for the festival to not only celebrate the diversity in filmmaking, but also raise awareness to present day injustices?
I think that making the awareness is key. Even celebrating it is important. I think that it was a surprise to a lot of people when they saw the controversies with Obama's campaign. You know, people, really stanading up and saying "I'm not gonna vote for that guy because he's black." I think people didn't think they said those things but you know when you're a person of colour, you know those things are being said all the time. I think the awareness really shook the consciousness wordwide just having him run the way that he ran and for him succeeding the way he succeeded. Chris Rock said something so funny, "you know people of colour usually have to succeed at "this" [raises arm high] level just to be recognized on the same level. So when you really think about someone like Obama, he was really exceptional. I don't think that I've seen a politician at that level in years no matter what colour they were and it would have been hard to imagine this person not winning. I think that is what we want to bring attention to. We want the playing field to be leveled a little bit. Especially about storytelling. Films are storytelling and we all have our stories, not matter who we are. It's important for them to be shared and it is important for us to see ourselves reflected and that's what Reel World really is at the end of the day.
How does it feel being back on Y&R? The show is on a creative upswing with Maria Arena Bell writing.
I say all the time that she [Maria Arena Bell] is channelling Bill Bell right now. She just is! She's creating the same vibe and the same energy of the way it felt in the first five years of when I was on the show. We tell her that all the time and she feels it too.
Everyone's calling the Lynn Marie Latham era as the "dark era". Fans are happy that they've brought you back now at this point.
It was also me who was wanting to come back at this point because I was just so tired and the way that Maria's been writing has completely invigorated my love for the show again and my wanting to be there...so that was key.
With your portrayal of Dr. Olivia Barber Hastings Winters, you’ve become a daytime icon. Your character has been through it all: sibling rivalry, cancer, a troubled pregnancy, adultery, an HIV scare, child abduction, divorce…what's next for Olivia? Is there a story that you want them to do?
Wow, that's really interesting. I guess another romance. I think it's time for another romance. There hasn't been a romance since the whole Malcolm thing. [My character] went through a lot of bitterness and time has gone by and [I think that it's time for] a really beautiful romance. Maybe another older woman and younger man? Maybe another younger woman and older man?
Any specific pick?
Every single one of them is so hot...it's insane. [Laughs] Every single guy on our show is quite spectacular.
Olivia's a heroine. We don't really see that many heroines on soaps anymore. The women are now all schemers.
Eileen Davidson and I were talking about that because we're very sensitive about them creating two women who really enjoyed each others company. It was fun. We were really dissapointed when they went in a different direction with the whole Brad thing. We just make that the dark years! We just don't think about it. I can't think of any other characters who are women on soaps who actually support, care and like each other...instead they are scheming. I'm sure it helps that our writer's a woman.
You are working with Eileen Davidson in a new story. Can you give us a tease on what is going to be happening?
I'm working with Eileen and it appears that she may be having a reocurrance of something that we've seen in the past.
Fans are anticipating the return of your character’s son, Nate…Are there any immediate plans to bring him back?
That's what I would like to know too! I would love that. I actually don't know that but I would love for him to come back. Whether it's the same actor or not, it was a great character.
